THE TEN AVATARS OF VISHNU

Charles Darwin, the famous naturalist, about whom I’m sure you must have read in your biology classes during school time….is credited with the Theory Of Evolution. This theory gained popular acceptance, after lot of controversies and rejection by the orthodox religious and scientific fraternity.

The theory puts forward a very simple argument. It says that all life on earth can be traced back to a common ancestor. This common ancestor, was initially a simple living being….simple in structure and functioning .

This common ancestor originated in some kind of quasi liquid pond(primordial soup as per Darwin / life started in water...as per some religious texts..) .

This ancestor later diversified and branched into various kinds of living beings as we see them today

This diversification came about due to the following phenomenon, as told by Darwin :

a) Process of natural selection

b) Struggle for existence

     (survival of the fittest)

c) Artificial selection/selective breeding

This theory of origin of Species , is considered to be the most popular and unifying theory about diversity in nature and also about  beginning of life on earth.

My aim is to give you a very interesting similarity between what Darwin perceived about the origin of life and the ten avatars (incarnations) of Vishnu. 

LORD VISHNU HERE IN HIS SPLENDID SUPER HUMAN DEPICTION WITH THE LOTUS  IN ONE HAND AND
CONCH IN THE OTHER; WITH THE SUDARSHAN CHAKRA AND THE MACE AS HIS WEAPONS

THE SKY IS FULL OF COLORS..NATURE HAS ITS OWN WAY OF TELLING YOU THAT YOU ARE BLESSED
THE SKY ABOVE AND THE WATER BENEATH,ARE ALL THE GIFTS THAT YOU CAN COUNT....

TO SOME ITS DARK BECAUSE THERE IS NO LIGHT..FOR SOME BECAUSE THEY CAN'T REALLY SEE

IT MAY SEE THAT THE SEA HAS SWALLOWED THE SUN
TO THE NAIVE IT MAY APPEAR....ILL NEVER RETURN
TO THE IGNORANT...ITS MY END
BUT THE SEA KNOWS.......DARKNESS WILL DIE...
ILL RISE AGAIN AT DAWN AND MY LIGHT WILL FILL THE SKY......

O GOD! OUR BOAT IS SO SMALL
O GOD....THE SEA IS SO BIG....
O GOD...............YOU ARE.... THE  WINDS,THE OAR,THE HEART,THE PRAYERS..........

WHERE THERE IS NEITHER TRUTH NOR LIE..
WHERE THE EARTH MEETS THE SEA AND SKY...
THERE I SHALL SEE YOU

WHERE THE THE EARTH MEETS THE SKY AND THE SEA...THERE I SHALL WAIT LIKE A TREE..
WINDS WILL MAKE ME DRY...WATER MAY MAKE ME WET
I SHALL WAIT ......TILL THE PROMISE IS KEPT..................

WHERE THE LAND MEETS THE SEA AND THE SKY.....

THE TREE AT THE SHORE......BECOMES WET,BECOMES DRY,DECAYS UNDER THE SKY
LIFE,WILL DECAY AT THE SHORE ..IF ONE DOESN'T EXPLORE HIS SEAS AND SKYS
